A Lonely Road

Wandering around on the roads,
I was lonely and insecure,
Trying to fathom the human desires,
Which have entrapped the mind's sapphire.

I stopped and looked around,
Hoping to see another lost soul about,
To share my thoughts about life,
And drown in the grievances alive.

But it was dark all around,
An eerie silence had possessed the place,
And it seemed that miles and miles about,
No living creature could've been found.

I walked ahead towards the gate,
In search of a world far away,
I'd dwelled enough on this lonely road,
It was time to break the bonds & fly away.
